Exercise & Injury Rehabilitation

What is Exercise Rehab?

Exercise rehabilitation is an essential process when it comes to healing from an injury, decreasing pain and improving overall physical and mental health. It involves a range of interventions including strength training, stretching/ flexibility, mobility, functional movement, stabilisation/ balance, bodyweight resistance and cardiovascular exercise. At Exceed Health Hub, our practitioners believe that each of these interventions has its place and we do not take a ‘one size fits all’ approach to rehabilitation.

The prescription of exercise is an integral part of your osteopathy or physiotherapy management. Whilst ‘hands-on’ treatment is extremely beneficial and necessary, we have found that the majority of our patients obtain greater results when combining both hands-on and active interventions. By progressing to the exercise rehab stage of management, your practitioner is demonstrating that you do not need to become forever dependent on passive treatments for the relief of symptoms and chronic pain.

Based on your case history, presentation and abilities, your practitioner will work with you to create a program carefully tailored to meet your individual needs and goals. A careful and guided progression of exercise, under the supervision of your treating practitioner, is key to exercising safely and successfully achieving identified goals.

Tailored Home Programs

At Exceed Health Hub, a much loved feature of our osteopathic management is the prescription of a home-based exercise program to complete in between visits. The purpose of a home program is to enhance the treatment you receive and to facilitate your recovery. We use an online exercise software program which allows us to generate videos and images and create a personalised program for your specific needs, as well as tracking your progress and pain levels.
