Clinical Pilates

What is Clinical Pilates?

Our Clinical Pilates service centres around improving posture, mobility, co-ordination, balance, physical and core strength. Clinical Pilates is a highly individualised form of Traditional Pilates taught by our qualified health professionals who have completed additional formal training.

This means that clients of all ages and abilities can expect a guided, safe, and extremely effective program to encourage optimal physical function. This is achieved through:

  • Individually-tailored programs – a carefully crafted individual program, with specific exercises handpicked to suit your ability, goals and needs. As you progress, so does your program!
  • Clinical methodology – an evidence-based approach to exercise with the guidance of qualified allied health practitioners who know and understand the complex nature of injuries, biomechanics and rehabilitation.
  • Service options – individual/ private sessions (one-on-one) and semi-private classes (two-on-one).

The Clinical Pilates Process at Exceed Health Hub

At Exceed Health Hub, we begin the Clinical Pilates process with “The Initial Assessment”. A qualified practitioner will have a discussion with you around your history, current presentation, and goals. Your practitioner will then analyse your posture, movement patterns, strengths, and weaknesses, using specialised and systematic methods. Based on these findings, an individualised program and separate home program will then be created to address your needs and achieve the greatest results for you.

Following your Initial Assessment, you will continue on with several one-on-one sessions. This quality time ensures you get the most out of your Clinical Pilates experience in a safe and relevant way. You’ll gain a more in-depth understanding of how your body functions in relation to the key elements of Pilates, bringing awareness to your movement patterns and learning how equipment can both challenge and assist you. You’ll gradually learn useful techniques, and build up your confidence to enable a smooth transition to our small group classes. We recommend a minimum of 3 Private Sessions before moving to classes.

At Exceed Health Hub, we prefer not to crowd our Clinical Pilates classes so that we can ensure high quality individualised care. For this reason, our small group classes are designed in a “semi-private” format. Meaning each class will have a maximum of two participants only.
